After decades of school, work a day world ,putting hubby through architecture school, raising children alone in Mexico...then becoming an entrepreneur, stock broker, owner and CEO of a multilevel bra company, owner and CEO of a start up computer company. Serious life threatening illness and bankruptcy (WHEW) led me to move to paradise (Hawaii) to begin the improbable journey to becoming a renowned successful artist. Optimistically, I practiced drawing and bought some art supplies at a garage sale. Supporting myself as a retail jewelry sales person, I called a very famous artist and asked for a chance to observe her, painting.
She was highly complimented but said "NO"and recommended Stephen Sands.
Eventually we became partners in his Front Street Gallery next to the Old Lahaina Luau. That was 28 years ago. Now I am in transition from Kauai to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico to again start a new adventure. I will open a unique art gallery, conduct workshops, and reinvent myself from being a successful Hawaiian landscape and seascape artist and evolve artistically. As was declared during the confederate war "Damn the torpedoes ; full speed ahead." Here I go.
I have been inspired and influenced by Anthony Casay, Stephen Sands, Camille Przwodek, Birstadt, Kevin McPherson, John
Carlson, many early California impressionists and the plein air movement spearheaded recently by editor and publisher of Plein Air Magazine Eric Rhoades,
