I am a self-taught artist from central Pennsylvania, working primarily in acrylic and oil. At the moment, I maintain active membership in the local Bellefonte Art Museum as well as the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania.
My first memory of impacting others with art was unnerving my babysitter with an eerily convincing drawing of a cow -- and since then, I've continued the tradition of unnerving viewers with expressive surrealism and emotional portraits. This is likely due to strong influences from surrealists, fantasy artists, and classic illustrators, from Frida Kahlo to Kay Nielsen.
It's hard to live in central or western Pennsylvania without getting drawn into plein air painting, however, so I also take part in plein air events and enjoy painting impressionistic landscapes of my beloved home state. Besides painting, I write poetry and fiction and aim to illustrate and publish my own works.
